Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Adheres to and implements all Rotech policies and procedures while providing supervision and participation in the compounding, dispensing, packaging and labeling of pharmaceutical products. • Inputs or supervises input of prescriptions and patient information into the pharmacy computer system. • Maintains and reviews computer patient diagnostic profiles for appropriateness of medications and patient compliance. • Ensures safe, accurate and efficient dispensing of medications to patients. • Maintains appropriate records of dispensing as required by state and federal laws. • Provides accurate drug information to physicians, nurses, patients and other personnel as needed. • Counsels patients on dosage, usage, storage, side effects and indications of medications. • Consults prescribers to clarify inaccuracies, correct errors, notify of potential diagnostic related events and obtain refill authorization. • Supervises storage of pharmaceuticals and other related duties as required. • Provides prescription transfer information to and from pharmacies. • Participates in continuing education programs to enhance skills and satisfy current licensure requirements.
